Musings

Spring is such a better time than January to be excited about new beginnings, new goals, and a renewed enthusiasm. But maybe January is better because it forces us, during the dark and dreary days of winter, to 'push' ourselves to greater motivation and success. Which, if accomplished, brings 'light' and energy into our lives.

This is what I need. I've been reading some of my father's journals. Even in his 70's, as such an accomplished person, with so many admirers, he still struggled with decisions; daily and lifelong challenges. I remember those years and don't recall any signs of his internal struggles.

The good news? He is now an even better example for me of how we need to continue to 'work out our salvation', temporally and spiritually. There isn't a finish line with a final recovery period. It's a progression of several finish lines that we must cross, recover, and then head off to the next, or continue, on the same course. It's what we're all working on, at different stages. It's a falsehood that others has 'finished'. It's just that some are better at how they handle their current situations and how well they help others along the way and not just focus on their internal battle plan.

So, I'll continue with one foot in front of the other.
